On behalf of the entire QAHS, congratulations to all of these athletes on their performances during this competition. You have demonstrated exactly what it means to be a balanced IB Learner.

Stephanie Hall and Jaike Salmon have qualified to compete in the upcoming Regional Athletics trials to be held at Griffith University from the 6 -7 September. Stephanie will compete in the 3000m and 1500m events, while Jaike will compete in the 110m hurdles and the long jump. The whole of QAHS wishes both of these athletes the best of luck.

“On the 17-18 August, I participated in the Broadwater Athletics Championship. I competed in the 3000m and 1500m races and I was fortunate to place 1st in both events. This Championship marked the start of the Athletics season which will continue for the remainder of the year. I feel that participating in athletics has made me a more balanced and well-rounded person. It provides a great balance with academic commitments because athletics gives me the chance to divert my focus on another aspect of my life which assists in decreasing academic stress. I enjoy competing in races as I get the chance to see the results of my perseverance and hard work. I will now continue training to improve my athletic ability in preparation for the Regional Championships running between the 6-7  September. “  – Stephanie Hall
