2019 Kokoda Challenge students enjoy first hike experience
6.45am on Saturday 16 February our 2019 Kokoda Challenge students met to undertake their first training hike. Ben Sheppard, Stephanie Kallas, Anna Lee, Rhiannon Pascual, Manomai Tirumalasetti, Shakira Coldwell and Callum Janetski were joined by staff Ms Hart, Mr Emery and Mr Bernardino and parent Mr Sheppard and undertook a 7km hike in the Numinbah Valley. The trail consists of 3.5 km of steep inclines and beautiful scenery, a quick rest break at the top and a return down the same track to the start/finish point.
Everyone enjoyed the hike, even with the trips and falls that happened on the particularly dry terrain, and students are now more determined than ever to tackle the 96km course!
Well done to the 2019 Kokoda Challenge teams.
