The 2020 Leadership Retreat at the Numinbah Valley Environmental Education Centre was incredibly fun and enriching for the Student Executive. Unleashing Personal Potential ran a number of activities, the most memorable of which was a teamwork challenge to transport a marble around the building using only PVC pipes. We also got the chance to brainstorm plans for new activities and ideas to improve our school and house culture. The second day involved the blindfold trail, an animal experience and pole climb. These three activities challenged us to be risk-takers and encouraged us to be open-minded. It was great to listen to everyone's ideas and bond with each other in the teamwork challenges. It's clear that we have an exciting year ahead for the Student Executive and QAHS!
Besides the fun teamwork and outdoor activities, the part that I enjoyed the most was getting to know everyone. It was great to learn more about each other, become friends and form connections. I can already tell that this year's Student Executive will be a cohesive and collaborative team. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that we had a really fun time getting to know each other and participating in activities at the Leadership Retreat! I'm looking forward to working together throughout the rest of the year.
