In Week 9 of Term 1 the Student Executive Committee embarked upon a two-day leadership retreat at Numinbah Valley Environmental Education Centre, in which they participated in a range of team building, leadership skill development and future planning activities.
UPP ran an engaging and interactive night-time leadership session designed to highlight the strengths of our individual leaders, encourage cohesive teamwork, generate a clear vision for the 2022 school year and develop a plan to put useful ideas into action.
Numinbah Valley Environmental Education Centre also guided the leadership team through the process of building wildlife boxes to replicate tree hollows for native wildlife displaced by the 2019-2020 bushfires, and took them canoeing through the beautiful Hinze Dam.
The 2022 Student Executive Committee members left the retreat feeling energised, prepared and confident in their ability to leave a positive legacy at the end of their term. What a great start to the year for QAHS leadership!
