Each year, QAHS students voluntarily step-up to the challenge of participating in the A.B. Paterson Public Speaking competition. This year, over 450 students from Gold Coast schools put their skills to the test as they presented on a chosen topic from a specified list to an audience of adjudicators, members of the public and peers.
We are very pleased to announce the 2022 Winner of the Year 11 competition is QAHS' Anenya Kale. Anenya's powerful speech on the theme of 'True Colours' highlighted the dark history of Australia, which is often disregarded in favour of painting a more complimentary picture of 'the lucky country'. Anenya presented her Grand Final speech with conviction and flair, ensuring that her underrepresented perspective was heard loud and clear.

Well done, Anenya!
