Last term, 76 Year 10 students sat the Australian High Schools Cancer Competition (AHSCC). These students are the second cohort to attempt the AHSCC which is based around a challenging cell biology and cancer syllabus. With only four days to prepare for approximately six months' worth of content, supported by only two after school tutorials, I am proud to announce that once again, we have taken out winning places in the competition.
This year both Sebin Lee and Gihansa Kottasha Vidhanelage, who scored 3rd and 4th place respectively, will be offered a one-week internship at the prestigious Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute in Heidelberg, Victoria.
In addition to this wonderful result, there are also 10 QAHS students awarded a High Distinction.
Incredible results for these students.
