Mrs Nelly De Vorms has been competing in CrossFit for the past ten years and every year the CrossFit World Wide competition begins as an online event for three weeks. One workout is released each week and competitors worldwide take part in their own local gyms. Each workout comes with a set of standards to adhere to and athletes are judged by a registered judge within their local CrossFit gym. Once completed the workout athletes upload their score to the leader board providing them with the opportunity to compete amongst the best. Athletes range from all level of abilities from beginner to elite.

At the conclusion of the Open the next stage is the quarterfinals, where athletes who finished in the top 10% in the world have an opportunity to compete. Here the workouts get a little more complex. Fortunately, Mrs DeVorms' training paid off and she made the top 10% world wide in her age division, a huge achievement in itself, finishing in 1195th in the world.
This is the second year that Mrs De Vorms has competed in the quarter finals. Mrs DeVorms had one weekend with which to complete five workouts. The workouts were challenging but also rewarding at the same time. Mrs DeVorms finished 506th in the quarterfinals, not enough to qualify for the semi finals however, that is not stopping her from getting back to training even harder for next year's competition. Let's see what the 2023 season will bring.
In the meantime, Mrs DeVorms is also competing in a few local competitions. She has been competing for a long time and loves the sense of community that each competition brings and the challenges each event brings.
