We are off to a flying start in sport for 2022, with some exceptional achievements by our QAHS students.
Cara is a talented, all-round sportswoman who has recently competed in several
Tennis Tournaments around the country - including the Australian Open Junior Championships in Melbourne. Cara was up against some of the world's most talented junior players, and continues to climb the UTR rankings. Cara also enjoys other sporting pursuits such as golf, swimming and yoga and is currently completing her Bronze Medallion as part of the QAHS Surf Lifesaving Group. We congratulate Cara on her amazing achievements both on and off the tennis court.
Josh has just returned from captaining the South Coast team at the Queensland
School Sport Triathlon Championships in Hervey Bay. In his last year of schooling, we congratulate Josh on an outstanding result of 4th place in the Senior Boys individual triathlon. Josh has now qualified to represent Queensland at the Nationals in September this year. Furthermore, Josh was the esteemed 'skipper' of the South Coast team who won the Junior, Intermediate and Senior divisions at the state championships. Congratulations Josh - you showed phenomenal leadership, athleticism, and humility.
Jordan Klos and Madeline Howell competed at the Broadwater District Swimming
Trials yesterday at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre. This was a time-trial event and we look forward to hearing the results shortly.
In closing, we are pleased to see so many of our QAHS students nominating for district and regional sporting opportunities. If you have any sporting stories to share, we would love to recognise the achievements of our QAHS students!
