Last year, QAHS student Angie Zhou sat the Biology Olympiad exam on campus. Her performance in this exam placed her in the top performing group of students in Australia and she was selected to attend the Australian Biology Olympiad Summer School. Following the Summer School, Angie was selected as a member of the four student team to represent Australia in the International Biology Olympiad.
This year, The 31st International Biology Olympiad (IBO) was to take place 3-11 July in Nagasaki prefecture, Japan. The event was adapted to an online format in 2020 in response to travel restrictions and Angie sat 12 hours of examinations over two days at QAHS. We have just received acknowledgement that Angie placed in the International competition involving approximately 70 countries and was recognised with a Certificate of Merit.
Congratulations Angie for this incredible achievement.
