We welcomed Alumna, Class of 2020, and proud Kombumerri and Ngugi Aboriginal woman Juliette Levinge to this week's Honours Assembly to celebrate the news that she has been announced as the Bond University Indigenous Medical Scholar for 2021. Under the full-fee scholarship, Juliette has commenced the first of the two sequential degree Medical Program with Bond University, comprised of the Bachelor of Medical Studies (BMedSt) and the Doctor of Medicine (MD).

Juliette reminded us that every student's path to a future career in Medicine is different – the inspiration, the perseverance and the connection to the Medical School. She shared salient messages with QAHS students about the finer details of paying close attention to QTAC forms and timely change of preferences once IB results are released in early January. Juliette was a member of the Future Health Leaders Study Tour launched at QAHS in 2019 which engages students in a program of online and workshop learning about First Peoples' Health, Aboriginal culture and the dynamics of the Aboriginal patient-doctor relationship.
