Week 6 saw all QAHS Music students in Years 10 and 11 each perform a solo as part of a Lunch-Time Concert Series. Performances were open to all academy students and staff, who provided a supportive audience on each day, in the intimately enclosed foyer of the Lecture Theatre. There were twenty two performances in total, including Year 10 student Sourena Eslami who sang and played guitar, an outdoor drum-kit solo by Year 11 student Indigo Edmunds, who played a solo to the Red Hot Chilli Pepper's, “By the Way" to a steadily growing crowd of on-lookers.
The Term 2 Winter Soiree was also in full effect, with performances by the QAHS String Orchestra, Stage Band, and nine other solo or duet performances. Congratulations to all students involved for their dedication to rehearsals and preparation! Special thanks to Yuko Yoshioka whose piano playing provided accompaniment for both the lunch-time concerts and Soiree, and to Sam Worboys who video recorded the lunch-time concerts.
