Thank you once again for your outstanding effort during Round 4 of the Interschool Sport competition. It is great to hear some of the success stories and feedback from staff in relation to team spirit, stand out performances and continual improvement in a variety of sports. I was fortunate enough to watch the girl's futsal and basketball games this week - super proud to see how well QAHS students conduct themselves both on/off the court.
Our final round (5) will take place on Tuesday 23 August (week 7). This is a catch up round due to the wet weather in round 1. We look forward to a strong showing from QAHS in the last round of Interschool Sport for 2022.
Lastly, a shout out to our girl's touch football side who competed in the Alliance Cup (sporting excellence) competition last Tuesday. QAHS made it into the Grand Final and played admirably against an experienced Southport SHS team. Thank you to Mrs Psychoulas and Mr Finlay for supporting the team on the day and in the lead up to the competition.

Our congratulations also goes to Jordon Klos who was selected to attend the 2022 Gold Coast Academy of Sports Future Stars Program.
"Over the past two weeks I had the opportunity to attend the first two evenings of the 2022 Gold Coast Academy of Sports Future Stars Program. At first it was quite a daunting experience meeting new athletes from various sports although the environment was very welcoming and it was interesting meeting like minded pre-elite athletes. The first evening started with a 2 hour long fitness testing session conducted by Olympic gold medalist, Glynis Nunn, with the following week being a strength/ muscle conditioning and nutrition seminar. Whilst a bit exhausting and very competitive, I have enjoyed the program very much so far and am keen to learn how to become a better athlete!"
