The AI for Good Challenge is an annual competition organised by Microsoft in which students learn the basic concepts of artificial intelligence. Equipped with this learning, they then work in teams on a design-thinking challenge to dream up a creative way that AI could be used to make a difference in the world. The challenge is about understanding AI and innovating concepts for how this technology could be used.
There were over 600 teams entered in this year's competition and two of our teams progressed to the Queensland State Finals. The finals were conducted via Zoom in September and we were delighted when places were awarded to:
1st Place: Team NAVI: Mai Hirovanaa, Candice Liu and Garlok Lu
3rd Place: Team Accessiplay: Sara Alaei, Maggie Chi and Aidan Luchs
Well done to both these teams! Team NAVI is now the Queensland representative at the National competition to be held in November!
