Congratulations to all students who participated in the first ever QAHS Athletics event last Friday! It was a tremendous day for all concerned, with a variety of track and field events on offer for all to engage in on the day. What was most impressive was the supportive environment and inclusive environment that our staff and students created on the day. No matter the time or the distance thrown/jumped in each event, the cheering and support for all participants was simply incredible. Well done to our house leaders, heads of house, staff and volunteers for coming together as a QAHS community to deliver a memorable day for all concerned. We also have nine participants who will be representing QAHS at the Broadwater District Track and Field event next week. We wish them the best of luck!
QAHS volleyball teams compete in state-wide competition
For the first time, QAHS entered three teams in last weekend's VQ Senior Schools Cup event on the Gold Coast. This is one of the largest Volleyball tournaments in Australia, with 310 teams from 138 school competing at the event.

QAHS Year 11 Boys (Division two - green)

The QAHS teams have been training consistently since the trials occurred in March this year, under the expert guidance of Year 12 student Joaquin Segui and QAHS Alumni Olisha Button and Sabien Serbanescu. The three current and former QAHS students are all state-level volleyball players themselves. We were also fortunate to have Year 10 student and state player, Lincoln Holman, coach the Year 11 girls' side at the tournament.
The teams had excellent support during the tournament, with many staff, students and families coming along to cheer on the teams over the weekend. Congratulations to all players and coaches, the future is looking very promising for QAHS Volleyball!
