The Interact Club received an amazing opportunity to host and learn from the District 9640 Governor Andy Rajapaske, Interact Chair Jordon Holdorf and a member of our parent Club, the Rotary Club of Ashmore Jan Heap. This opportunity enabled many Interactors to acquire an insight into the international work of Rotary as well as how 'Rotary Opens Opportunities'. Overall, the experience was incredibly insightful and revelatory as the District Governor detailed various Rotary initiatives and incentives, especially in relation to Polio. Rotary advocates for the mitigation of Polio and Andy informed us that there are only two countries in the world where Polio is still present. Andy Rajapaske enlightened us on the different experiences Rotary enabled him to participate in and the incredible accolades Rotary has attained around the world. Furthermore, the Interact Club was offered to be the lead club in the Polio 'Pinky' Day campaign and awareness fundraiser which is a worthwhile opportunity that our club is hoping to further pursue.
