Term 1 has seen a fun and productive start for Brilliant Futures students. Each of the Year 7 and 8 cohorts includes 54 students from a variety of primary schools, and each group engages in a number of weekend activities with QAHS and our Academy partners each term. This term the Introductory Year Brilliant Futures students have participated in an Induction Ceremony, Science Lab workshop, and a Collaborative Learning and Global Thinking Workshop. The students were very ably led by our Year 11 and 12 STEM mentors and our own teaching staff.
Meanwhile the Investigative Year students have participated in two workshops provided by the Toohey Forest Environmental Education Centre team. The first of which was a workshop that involved designing and testing wind turbines at QAHS, the second saw the Year 8 students travel to the Toohey Forest Centre for immersive activities in ecological research.
