Weeks 4 and 5 of Term 2 saw our Year 10 students attend the annual camp at PCYC Bornhoffen. The camp provides students with an opportunity to get to know their cohort and their teachers, as well as providing the students the opportunity to be risk takers, in a safe and fun environment, as they undertake a number of challenging activities most of which many students have never experienced before.

High ropes, creeking, and abseiling at the edge of a waterfall were just some of the activities on the three day program. The wet weather and large number of leeches added an unexpected additional challenge to the adventurous activities but all students met the challenge with a smile on their face and pushed themselves outside of their comfort zones. It was fantastic to see the students supporting their peers in times of need and encouraging them when they may have felt nervous or too scared to continue. The mateship and camaraderie were evident as the cohort began to work together and get to know one another.

The staff members at Bornhoffen only had positive things to say about our wonderful QAHS Year 10 cohort and were thankful to share the experience with them. Well done Year 10 students on leaving such a positive impact on your peers, teachers and the venue staff. Congratulations to you all in pushing yourselves further than you thought you could go. It was a pleasure to watch you all develop our Year 10 community and to watch you all succeed in these new and challenging experiences.
