Week 10, saw the Year 12 cohort attend the much anticipated camp to Tangalooma Resort, Moreton Island, which was the perfect way to relax after our mock exams. Thanks to the organisation of Tangalooma and all the QAHS staff involved, we were able to feed dolphins, attempt sand tobogganing (where many of us had a shocking resemblance to bowling balls, myself included), and go hiking to learn about beautiful Moreton Island. But above all, we were allowed to buy delicious mocktails from the bar, under the close supervision of QAHS staff of course. I think I can speak on behalf of everybody that the best part of our camp experience was our air-conditioned rooms (some equipped with Netflix), the ability to bring copious amounts of snacks, having all the tools needed to make endless cups of tea, and just having some relaxing and quality time to spend with friends.

Although this was not a traditional camp, everyone fully appreciated the holiday getaway that allowed us all to put up our feet and momentarily forget about the approach of our final examinations. We were given the leniency and trust for plenty of free time to do whatever we liked within reason, where we could swim in the heated pools, buy souvenirs and drinks, or simply nap - which was a personal favourite!
The weather was brilliant which ensured there was no motion sickness from the ferry rides. By the end of the three days, I feel the biggest thing we took home (apart from all the amazing photos and memories) was the reminder that we all need to brush up on our Disney movies and facts, because we were all obliterated by Mrs Carta's trivia night questions.
Also, a very special mention and massive thanks must go to the QAHS teachers who volunteered their time away from family and friends to supervise the Year 12 students – events like these cannot happen without their generosity and support.
