Community partnership creates Ashmore PCYC Homework Club

QAHS students Dania Khawaja, Jordin Vaars, Hannah Claverie and Andrei Constantin have been volunteering for the past three Tuesdays at the Ashmore PCYC.

Between them, they have so far assisted students in writing a School Captain’s speech, proof readAshmore PCYC Homework Clubing a Humanities assignment, tutoring in Physics (friction and forces) and have assisted in general homework supervision. It really is meaningful volunteering/service to our community.

Our students are also benefiting from the volunteering for their CAS and Duke of Edinburgh award.

The partnership with Ashmore PCYC is an excellent one and I would encourage students to undertake this activity as part of their CAS activities.

Homework Club – Ashmore PCYC Community Partnership
Tuesdays from 3:30pm-4:30pm.  QAHS students are responsible for their own transport to Ashmore PCYC for this new community initiative. The QAHS students will be tutoring primary students to help with homework tasks, providing a structured time for questions and assistance with their school work.
