Inaugural Interschool QA Maths Challenge

QAHS Maths teachers love Maths and particularly enjoy extending students in their mathematical capabilities. Throughout 2017, students from Ashmore State School, Benowa State School and Mudgeeraba Creek State School have engaged in enriching Maths learning with QAHS Maths teachers introducing them to new mathematical concepts that they wouldn’t otherwise encounter until high school. Judging by the feedback, the students have been courageous in their Maths learning and have enjoyed the supported challenge.

Following the success of the term programs, teams from each school were brought together in Term 3 for the Inaugural QA Interschool Maths Challenge. The hotly contested Preliminary Round and Challenge Round resulted in the coveted Championship Round spots going to a team from each of the challenging schools. With only a few points separating them, the three teams then vied for the title of Champion Team before an audience of parents and peers in the Lecture Theatre.

Congratulations to all students and teachers involved in this exciting event.
