QAHS Ambassadors announced for the 2014 IB World Student Conference

Student Ambassadors have been selected for the upcoming 2014 IB World Student Conference to be held at the University of Queensland in July, 2014. The UQ-based Conference is one of three IB Student Conferences worldwide scheduled during 2014 and based around the theme Empowering Diversity.

During the Conference, students will hear from high profile thought leaders on the importance of diversity and work in teams to explore how they can make a positive impact in their own communities. The program will also include opportunities for students to enhance their leadership and communication skills, make life-long friendships and develop an appreciation of different cultures from around the world.

QAHS students will join other QA Ambassadors from the two Brisbane campuses for a week long residential program. As part of the half-scholarship Award, students will share their experiences with the school community and look at ways to positively influence their communities in ways consistent with the Conference theme.

Congratulations to half-scholarship Awardees (pictured left to right) in Year 10, Bianca Byfield, Jack Elliott, Kiara Pascoe and Amy Zhou, and to Year 12 Awardees, Gabrielle Chatwood and Norhan Elkhauly.
