Karen Phillips, the founder of the Queensland Women in Business Awards, initiated the very first Queensland Women in Business Summit which was held on the Gold Coast this month.  Due to our partnership with Bond University, eight students and two accompanying teachers were given the wonderful opportunity to attend the summit across the two days, which included empowering talks, expert panel discussions, workshops and mentor programs.

“On Friday 8 March, I along with three other girls were lucky enough to be invited to the Queensland Women in Business Summit; a platform to empower and connect female leaders. We were exposed to multiple speakers and panelists of whom were all successful and established women with a passion. This includes entrepreneurs, humanitarians, authors and many more. While representing QAHS, we were also honoured to be recognised as the ‘future leaders’ of a women empowered generation. Overall, the experience was worthwhile and a huge inspiration for young women like us to be optimistic for the future.”

“I was extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to attend such a professional and worthwhile event. Attending the Business Summit held at Novotel, Surfers Paradise was a great experience as I was able to interact with like-minded students with a sincere interest in Business, while learning from the many success stories of respectable leaders in the community. I was able to understand both the successes and hardships of leading female leaders, while also acknowledging the perspectives of leading male leaders. Overall, it was an amazing event which I had the pleasure of attending and representing QAHS.
