Success in “Best on the Coast” Competition
Now in its 21st year, the Bond University ‘Best on the Coast’ Quiz Competition attracts outstanding Year 12 students from across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW regions, who compete for prizes, prestige, and bragging rights!
Each school submits a team of six students who battle it out over eight rounds of general knowledge trivia. The competition contained questions and challenges from various topics and areas of study ranging from Chemistry to choral singing, Physics to popular culture and everything in between. The competition was held over eight rounds with scores for each round revealed briefly, before progressing on to the next. The top three schools were only separated at the end by a few points.
Please congratulate the following students on their excellent performance in the recent ‘Best on the Coast’ Quiz held at Bond University.
Eleanor Robinson, Viboo Mihindu, Kieran McGowan, Ben John, Liam Downey and Brandon Hargraves.
They performed brilliantly and achieved Third Place in some very tough competition which stretched from Coomera in Northern Gold Coast to Lismore in NSW.
We were the only Government school to place in the final round and above all, the student’s performance did the QAHS proud and they were a pleasure to accompany. Thank you also to Year Coordinator Patricia Carta who organised the team and Guidance Officer Paul Haydock who accompanied the team at the competition.
