Tracky Dack Day

The Campus atmosphere was relaxed and casual for our inaugural Tracky Dack Day fundraiser held on Wednesday 7 May.  Students and teachers dressed in their favourite tracksuit pants, pyjamas and colourful leggings for the occasion raising $392.90 in donations for TLC for Kids, Australia’s only emergency response charity for distressed kids in hospital.

The CAS programme (Creativity, Action and Service) is a core component of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program, encouraging students to maintain a balance between the academic rigour of the IB with a healthy, creative and engaged perspective locally, nationally and internationally and this fundraiser fits both with the IB curriculum and our students’ interests. We envisage this becoming an annual event on our calendar.

At lunch there was a whole school activity in the Green Heart (our open space at the campus) where one of the CAS groups called ‘The Funk’  performed and entertained the whole Campus in their dance moves. A story was also featured in the TXT 4 U section of Gold Coast Bulletin on Tuesday May 13.
