Year 12 Retreat
The Year 12 cohort recently went on retreat at the Runaway Bay Sports Super Centre on 11 and 12 August. It was a highly anticipated trip and after a half day of school, the year was buzzing with excitement as students waited for the bus.
On arrival, we were all ecstatic to find how comfortable the cabins were and enjoyed just sitting outside with everyone before activities started. On Thursday, the activities were educational and gave us a different perspective – academically, spiritually and physically. Elevate, mindfulness and nutrition helped give us a new perspective on how we should be helping our minds and bodies to be healthier, in all aspects. We also learnt CPR from Mr Cooper and Mr Mitchell, which was advantageous for all of us, and now we feel prepared to help anyone, if needed. On the same day, we participated in the Laser Skirmish, which made everyone sweaty and exhausted, but completely satisfied.
On Friday, the fun really started. We participated in four activities: the Spartan Course, the Amazing Race, Beach Volleyball and Archery. These all put our bodies to the challenge and helped us gain new skills. Everyone had to remain open minded since these activities were ones that we had not tried before. Everyone had an amazing time, and we would love to thank Mrs Carta for organizing it, and all the accompanying teachers for coming with us during their time.
