There is a rich history of QAHS Alumni giving back to the Academy. We like to think that it is the 'S' for Service in CAS that students carry with them into their futures long after they have left the Academy campus.

We were joined at this week's Academy Assembly by Ellin Minogue (Class of 2018) for an 'On the Couch' interview. Ellin has achieved much in the few years since graduation. With a Bachelor of Architectural Studies recently completed at Bond University, she is now enjoying an all-important 'life break' whilst she makes plans to study her Masters abroad. Ellin shared her insights on the learnings from her time at QAHS that have served her well in the transition to university and beyond.

A common thread among QAHS Alumni, Ellin remarked on the many benefits of Creativity-Activity-Service, a core component of the IB Diploma Programme, in keeping her grounded. Remarkably, Ellin has kept all three areas of CAS going throughout university engaging in the  architectural student community and seeking opportunities beyond the academic to include winning an app design competition. “Doing CAS throughout the three years at QA kept my mind on track and made it easy to transition to university, giving access to more opportunities" Ellin commented.

Prior to her Assembly interview, Ellin has been very generous with her time in touring a group of QAHS students around the Bond University Abedian School of Architecture to give them an insight into what the experience of tertiary studies in Architecture is like. Ellin enjoyed many creative pursuits whilst at QAHS and has flourished in continuing her creative journey into tertiary life.

We thank Ellin for her valuable contribution in giving back to the Academy and wish her well for the next chapter in building her career.
