On Saturday 11 September, the Brilliant Futures Investigative Year students took part in an excursion to the University of Queensland's SPARQ-ed facility in Brisbane. Students engaged in a highly skilled laboratory process involving measuring and testing using Micro Pipettes and centrifuge machines, as well as the recording and analysis of data.
The students' analysis of proteins required precision lab processes, incorporating biology, chemistry and maths. Very special thanks to Charmaine Keal and her team at SPARQ-ed for such an authentic and challenging workshop. Our students were thoroughly engaged and gained many insights into the work of research scientists.
