In Term 3, QAHS offers Year 10 Business Management students the Future Anything ACTIVATE “Social Enterprise" program, which builds an enterprising mindset in our classrooms, challenging students to create innovative, sustainable and scalable solutions to the problems they care about and make the world a better place. The ACTIVATE Social Enterprise program is a great foundation for the 2-year IB Diploma Business Management program here at the Academy. Students are well prepared for tackling Paper 3, which is designed specifically around social enterprises.
QAHS had two teams represent at the 2024 Future Anything National Grand Finals held on Tuesday 19 November in Brisbane. Both teams were in the Showcase Category, where teams set up a Trade Display showcasing their product to the judges and visitors.
Bear Baby Blankets
Jasmine Wheeler, Lily Kim and Emira Wellington designed blankets for babies made from sustainable materials sourced from local charities and second-hand stores. These blankets, infused with lavender oils help babies' skin and improve sleep quality.
NeRFly – Jacob Kosik
Jacob's innovative idea NERFLY uses video and AI to create high-quality 3D models faster, cheaper and with less environmental impact, using Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF), a new generative AI technology that can create 3D models using only video!
Congratulations to Jacob Kosik for winning the Showcase Innovation Award
