We are excited to inform our school community again this year, of the success our QAHS Debaters have achieved in the Preliminary Rounds of the Gold Coast Debating Competition, which took place throughout Terms 1 and 2. Eight QAHS Debating teams qualified for the knock-out Finals series which commenced for some levels of the competition in the final week of Term 2, and continues for the remaining levels, this term. The other five QAHS Debating teams narrowly missed out on Finals qualification and I look forward to their continued participation in Debating, next year.
While we congratulate all Debating students for representing QAHS in such an esteemed manner throughout the Preliminary Rounds of the Gold Coast Debating Competition, particular attention must be drawn to each of our Intermediate B and Open B team members, who are new to debating this year.

Although Intermediate B Team 1 and Intermediate A Team 2 narrowly lost their Round of sixteen knock-out Debating Final at the end of last term, Intermediate B Team 4 has qualified for the Quarter Final and the other five teams listed above are yet to participate in the first Debating Final for their level of the competition.
We wish the remaining QAHS teams in the Debating Finals all the very best as they strive to proceed to the next level of the Gold Coast Debating Competition and we look forward to hearing of their continued success.
