Our newly revamped Instrumental Music Program is off to a strong start with around thirty students in each of the Concert / Jazz Bands and String Orchestra. The Concert / Jazz Band is a newly created pair of wind ensembles that rehearse on Tuesday from 2-4pm, directed by Ms Sue Purton (woodwind), and Mr Matt Armstrong (brass). The String Ensemble rehearses on Wednesday from 2.00-3.30pm and is conducted by Ms Hampson. Any students who have played a wind or orchestral-string instrument in their former school who are not currently in one of these ensembles are more than welcome to join at any time.

The ensembles are run by SER Instrumental Music teachers, and offer students the opportunity for continued, regular instrumental practice and tuition. Come and join us and be part of our dream of going to GC Eisteddfod this year! Any questions please just see or email Mr Emery, or feel free to just turn up at a rehearsal with your instrument. Our first concert for the year will be the inaugural Music Showcase on Wednesday 29 March at 5pm in the Lecture Theatre.
