At the recent 2025 Gold Coast Eisteddfod, our Instrumental Music students showcased their exceptional musical talents across three ensemble divisions: the Concert Band, Stage Band, and String Orchestra. Each group performed in the prestigious A Grade sections at HOTA, where their dedication and hard work were on full display.

The Concert Band and Stage Band both achieved the distinguished Gold Standard of Achievement, while the String Orchestra earned a commendable Silver. These remarkable results reflect over a year's worth of diligent preparation and commitment from both the students and their ensemble directors.

Leading the strings ensembles were Ms Danica Inglis and Ms Sue Ferrers, whose guidance helped shape the expressive and cohesive performances of the String Orchestra. The winds and percussion groups were expertly directed by Ms Sue Purton and Mr Matthew Armstrong, whose expertise ensured the Concert Band and Stage Band delivered powerful and polished renditions.

The Gold Coast Eisteddfod provides a valuable platform for students to perform alongside ensembles from across Southeast Queensland and Northern New South Wales, representing a diverse array of both private and government schools. This competitive and collaborative environment challenges students to bring their best and learn from their peers.

QAHS is immensely proud of all the students who participated. Their commitment, professionalism, and the pride with which they represented their school truly set them apart. These achievements underscore the strength of QAHS's music program and the passion of its young musicians, promising even greater success in the years to come.
