Saturday of Week 8 saw our Brilliant Futures Year 8 students taking part in the Wind Turbine workshop, run by Toohey Forrest Environmental Education Centre Principal, Darren Shepherd. This is always a fantastic opportunity for students to learn from an expert educator about fair testing and scientific method. In the 90 minute workshop students worked in groups of 3-4 to design, construct and test a model wind turbine, linking to discussions of scientific applications in global sustainability and renewable energy. We thank Mr Shepherd and his team for continuing to deliver this outstanding program of events for our Brilliant Futures students. We also thank Mrs Anna Rosendahl for her help with supervision on the day.
