The 2024 Brilliant Futures STEM Camp held last weekend at Runaway Bay Sport and Leadership Excellence Centre was a fantastic success. The camp allows time for many of our Brilliant Futures Investigative Year students to solidify friendships that will last them throughout their QAHS journey and beyond. With the weather on our side, students participated in The “Wonders of the Warf" marine biology workshop, facilitated by our colleagues from Jacob's Well Eenvironmental Education Centre, and the solar boat workshop with Mark of Numinbah Valley Environemental Education Centre with help from our own Tony Nicholson.
We observed the growth in students' confidence and connection over the duration of the weekend as they navigated all of the exciting activities on offer. Thank you to Jo Parks, for ensuring the myriad of administration tasks are organised to precision and to the staff members who helped supervise over the weekend: Aaron Boulton, Betty Zenas, and Sophie Boissery.
