In conversations around leadership, themes of advocacy, inclusion, and innovation often take center stage. It was, therefore, fitting to have Anna-Louise Kassulke, CEO of Gold Coast Recreation and Sport, as our guest speaker for the Term 3 Thrive Session in September. As our Year 12 students approach their final Internal Assessments and IB examinations, Anna-Louise's presentation provided timely insights and perspective, especially for those feeling the weight of a demanding academic program. Her message served as a powerful reminder of how much more challenging everyday student life can be when compounded by the presence of a disability, fostering a deep sense of perspective and gratitude among the students.
Anna's work with Gold Coast Recreation and Sport, spanning more than 30 years, has focused on creating opportunities for people with disabilities. Her discussion on the importance of connection, using sport as a catalyst for happiness, and intentionally building an inclusive community left a lasting impression on QAHS staff and students alike. Her talk inspired many to reflect on how we can further champion these values.

"The third Thrive Session of this year, featuring Anna-Louise Kassulke, was an inspiring way to end the term.
