We are proud to recognise Year 12 student, Morgan Walsh, who represented Queensland Academy for Health Sciences at the 2025 Student Excellence Awards, held on Thursday evening at HOTA, Home of the Arts.
The event concludes an extraordinary week for Morgan, following her Valedictory Ceremony on Tuesday and Year 12 Formal on Wednesday. Despite a full schedule of celebrations and milestone moments, Morgan approached the evening with the same poise, maturity, and sense of purpose that has defined her time at QAHS.
Morgan was selected as a Top 3 finalist in the category of Excellence in Protecting Our Environment. This category recognises students who demonstrate outstanding commitment to environmental sustainability and who contribute meaningfully to conservation efforts within their school and wider community.

Morgan's nomination reflects her ongoing dedication to environmental leadership on both a local and global scale. Her work ranges from caring for and promoting a thriving community garden that inspires sustainable living, to contributing to international environmental research initiatives. She has invested countless hours in empowering other young people to take ownership of sustainability through education, collaboration, and practical action. Her nomination acknowledges not only her achievements, but also her influence as a role model for environmental stewardship.
The awards evening brought together students, educators, industry partners, and community leaders to celebrate the remarkable contributions young people are making across the Gold Coast. Morgan's inclusion among the city's most inspiring emerging environmental leaders is a credit to her commitment, initiative, and impact.
We congratulate Morgan on this exceptional recognition and thank Experience Gold Coast for providing a platform that highlights the talent and dedication of students across our city.
