This weekend the Gold Coast Kokoda Challenge is on!
Since 2005, thousands have lined up to conquer 96km of brutal terrain through the scenic Gold Coast Hinterland, taking on the infamous Big 5 mountains, climbing over 4,000 metres, wading through icy creek crossings, and pushing through the darkness of a freezing night. This year we have one team that is braving the 96km, wishing Bostyn, Aidan, Lucas and Matai all the very best!
The 48km event teams will face the ultimate test of teamwork when the sun goes down and challenge continues through the long, dark hours as they make their way through the terrain.
All of our brave students will all push beyond your limits and leave a lasting impact on the lives of young Australians, as they are also raising funds for the Kokoda Youth Foundation. This foundation is a local charity that has been empowering young Australians to achieve extraordinary things for over 20 years. Through their experiential and challenging youth programs, they help young people build physical and mental resilience, boost their confidence, and develop the core values of Courage, Endurance, Mateship, and Sacrifice – inspired by the remarkable 1942 Kokoda Campaign.
Every dollar raised and donated to Kokoda Youth Foundation through the Kokoda Challenge goes towards providing fully funded youth programs for disengaged teens at no cost to families involved. By removing financial barriers, we are able to impact the lives that need it most.
