The Gold Coast Junior Council program is an incredible initiative that invites students from all over the Gold Coast to learn about civil leadership. The first Council meeting of 2026 unfolded at the Gold Coast Council Chambers on Wednesday 25 February. During this meeting, the outgoing Executive Committee was celebrated for its amazing contributions, and the newly appointed 2026 team was sworn in.
Being elected on this committee of seven selected students is a huge achievement for me and is the testament to the hard work and effort I put into this program as a Year 10 Junior Councillor. As an Executive Committee member, it is my role to support the running of Junior Council Meetings through the guidance of the Program Coordinator and other Executive Committee Members and to encourage participation in the Junior Council.
Ultimately, this is an amazing opportunity in which I am very grateful for and would encourage current Year 10 Junior Councillors to apply at the end of the year.
