Four of our Year 11 students, Jay, Lorraine, Shirin and Eileen, represented Queensland Academy for Health Sciences at the Griffith University STEM Ambassador Conference 2026, held on the Gold Coast Campus.
The conference brought together student leaders from across the region for a full day of workshops and collaboration. Students explored structured problem-solving frameworks with Associate Professor Julienne Senyard and participated in a strategic planning workshop focused on turning ideas into practical STEM initiatives for their schools. A school showcase session also highlighted how student led STEM programs can drive meaningful engagement and impact within a school community.

In addition to leadership development, the conference provided insight into diverse STEM career pathways, including aeronautical engineering, allied health and biomedical research. These conversations encouraged students to consider how their interests in science and technology can translate into future study and professional opportunities.
Griffith University STEM Ambassadors will also play a leading role in the 2026 National Science Week celebrations on campus at QAHS, helping to coordinate activities and promote STEM engagement across the Academy.
We look forward to announcing the final list of Griffith University STEM Ambassadors for 2026 in the coming weeks.
Students interested in applying are encouraged to submit a nomination via the Enrichment Hub on MyQA.
