In the water
A special congratulations goes to Cooper Hudson, who competed at the National Pool Rescue Championships earlier this term. Cooper produced an outstanding performance, claiming an impressive medal haul of five Gold and two Silver.
Cooper has also been selected on the Australian Surf Life Saving Team to compete in New Zealand in September as part of the development team, as they build towards the International Surf Life Saving World Championships in 2026 which will take place in South Africa. This is a huge achievement as Cooper is the youngest member selected for the team. We wish him all the best and look forward to his results.

Misaki Yasuda competed at the Artistic Swimming Australian National Championships during Term 2 and won Gold in all of her events.

Senior Schools Volleyball Competition
On August 8–10, QAHS entered two teams in the Senior Schools Volleyball Competition. The squads, managed by Year 10 student Olivia Segui and coached by Alumni Joaquin and Hayden, showcased skill and determination throughout the tournament. After weeks of early morning trainings, the boys team achieved a close 6th place finish, while the girls team reached the podium with an impressive 3rd place.

Interhouse Volleyball competition
The competitive spirit continued into Week 6 with the Interhouse Volleyball competition. With our top players divided across the four houses, every match was hard-fought and closely contested. Ventus emerged as champions, followed by Ignis, Terra, and Aqua.

Week 10 will see our Staff VS Year 12 competition which this year is Netball. Will the teachers come away with a much needed win this year?
We are always eager to celebrate the achievements of our student athletes. If you compete in a sport outside of QAHS, please share your results and a photo with us so we can highlight your accomplishments in future updates.
