The QA Surf Lifesavers CAS program has launched a new recognition initiative, the Honourable Community Service Badge. The badge proudly celebrates members who demonstrate exceptional leadership, initiative, and commitment to community service.

This badge acknowledges students and alumni who go above and beyond in their involvement with the QA Lifesavers program and their local surf clubs. Recipients are those who consistently contribute to voluntary patrols, CAS training sessions, and club activities, communicate effectively with patrol captains, and show reliability and initiative in supporting their peers.
Unlike other awards, there is no set number of recipients each year, with badges presented at key points throughout the season to recognise members who exemplify the true spirit of surf lifesaving and community service.
The first group of awardees were announced at the recent QA assembly:
- Marion Khoo
- Caitlin Du Plessis
- Mattias Steljic
- Mia Watson
- Hannah Provenzano (QA Alumna)
- Joshua Milmoe (QA Alumnus)
Each recipient has made a sustained and meaningful contribution to both the Academy and the wider surf lifesaving community, reflecting the program's core values of service, integrity, reliability, and inclusion. It is also fantastic to see many QAHS alumni continuing to serve the community on patrol, alongside current students.
Congratulations to all inaugural recipients of the QA Surf Lifesavers Honourable Community Service Badge, and thank you to every QA Surf Lifesaver for your continued service to keeping our beaches safe.
