Today, our Year 11 students participated in a carefully curated Career Exploration Day at Griffith University, designed to provide meaningful insight into future study and career pathways connected to the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct.
QAHAS staff co-designed the program with Griffith University's Science on the GO! team. The program followed a 'choose your own adventure' format, allowing QAHS students to nominate and attend sessions aligned to their interests. This personalised approach ensured a highly relevant and engaging experience for the cohort.

Across the day, students rotated through a series of small group sessions led by academics, researchers and industry professionals. Sessions on offer included:
- BioSpine and biomedical research
- Pharmacy and medical sciences
- Aviation and engineering pathways
- Medical technology and innovation (including BiVACOR)
- Health and clinical careers
- Business and health economics
- Motorsport, industrial design and engineering industry pathways
- Griffith Honours College and academic excellence pathways

These sessions provided students with valuable exposure to real-world applications, current research and emerging career opportunities. Many included hands-on elements and direct interaction with experts, enabling students to ask questions and deepen their understanding of potential pathways.
This initiative reflects the strength of QAHS's partnership with Griffith University and highlights the value of connecting students with authentic learning experiences beyond the classroom.
We thank the Griffith University team for their collaboration in delivering this outstanding opportunity for our students.
