QAHS was delighted to welcome two visiting delegations of English teachers from the Tokyo Board of Education, providing a wonderful opportunity for professional learning, cultural exchange and global connection.
As part of their visit, our dedicated QAHS teachers generously opened their classrooms for observation and professional dialogue. The visiting teachers were able to experience learning in action, observe classroom practice and share ideas with our staff. These authentic opportunities for collaboration highlighted the strong culture of teaching, learning and professional growth within our Academy.
Our students also played an important role in welcoming our visitors. Over lunch, students connected with the visiting teachers, answering questions, sharing their experiences and engaging in warm and genuine conversations. Their openness, confidence and enthusiasm created meaningful connections and provided our visitors with a valuable insight into the student experience at QAHS.

As an International Baccalaureate World School, global connectedness is an important part of our identity. The IB encourages schools to develop internationally minded communities that value different perspectives, foster intercultural understanding and recognise our shared connections as members of a global community.

The visit from the Tokyo Board of Education was a wonderful example of this in action — connecting educators and students across cultures, sharing knowledge and building relationships that extend well beyond our campus. We are proud of the role our staff and students played in making this a warm, meaningful and genuinely global learning experience.
