On Tuesday six budding entrepreneurs from Year 10 represented QAHS at the Future Anything Showcase finals in Brisbane, an exhibition of innovative, sustainable and scalable ideas to make the world a better place. QAHS had two teams, 'Mik' (Daniel Kim, Joanne Kim, Lina Nguyen, and Shivam Raval) and 'Pillar of Spring' (Jashan Dhanak and Keith Wu). 'Mik', a sharing economy app for household appliances, took out the community impact award. The judges were impressed by its endeavour to bring people in the community together and reduce stresses of the cost-of-living crisis. They also received a $250 cash prize for their victory.

In the business pitch competition, QAHS had two teams in the online semi-finals, 'Mik', and 'Stryde' (Lam Nguyen, Liam Hewitt, and Mitchell Mayman). 'Mik' achieved the runners-up place in their semi-final.

Two teams, 'Uniform-ish' (Baileigh Blatch, Sarah Gonzalez Altahona, and Thenuli Balage) and 'Second Chance Wood Work' (Matthew Voorhoeve, Suhail Moolla, and Jay Reddy) were awarded highly commended honours as one of the top 25% of competition entries.

All Year 10 Business Management students at QAHS entered the showcase and business pitch competitions as part of our Term 3 curriculum.  This year, Future Anything awarded $141,000 worth of cash investment and professional support to the award winners. Congratulations to all teams that participated and received an award.
