Our annual Brilliant Futures Year 8 STEM camp, was held recently on the weekend of Week 5, at Runaway Bay, Gold Coast Performance Centre. Year 8s engaged in a variety of STEM and team building activities throughout the weekend. Jacob's Well Environmental Education Centre's Iain Harrison and team, delivered a Marine bBiology workshop aboard the EDUCAT research vessel in the waters of the Gold Coast Broadwater, while Mark Drover of Numinbah Valley Environmental Education Centre engaged students in the solar boat construction workshop on site at Runaway Bay. The camp is an opportunity for students to make long lasting connections with like-minded peers, with a view to a QAHS pathway, while engaging in science enrichment activities.
