Year 10 students Sofia Bedra, Joanne Kim, Cerise Pangaruy and Olivia Segui proudly represented QAHS at the QUT Accounting Challenge Final, held at the Gardens Point Campus on Friday 6 June 2025. The event brought together top teams from across Queensland to present their business recommendations to a panel of QUT academics and industry professionals.
The QAHS team earned their place in the final following a strong first-round submission and impressed judges with their well-reasoned, engaging presentation. Each team member delivered their section confidently—without palm cards—and worked seamlessly together to communicate practical accounting insights and business solutions.

Reflecting on the day, Sofia Bedra shared:
“The QUT Accounting Challenge was such an engaging and interesting competition that really allowed us to challenge ourselves and delve deeper into our interests in both Accounting and Business. Listening to the other presentations helped us develop a broader understanding of how Accounting works and how it can solve real-life problems. We all left with a greater interest and eagerness to further explore future pathways in this field."
She added, “It was a fantastic opportunity to interact with fellow students across Queensland and to learn from QUT staff and lecturers. Presenting in front of qualified judges was a highlight—we enjoyed the chance to receive feedback and grow from the experience."
We would like to thank Mrs Leena Palekar for her generous support and supervision on the day. Congratulations once again to Sofia, Joanne, Cerise and Olivia for your outstanding performance and for representing QAHS with such enthusiasm and professionalism.
