Congratulations to our Year 12 students who were recognised during National Science Week assembly on Tuesday 12 August for their outstanding achievement in the CSIRO's Creativity in Research, Engineering, Science and Technology awards (CREST). CREST is a non-competitive, competency-based awards program designed as an incentive to recognise student achievement in inquiry learning.
Silver CREST Awards recognise students who complete open investigations which are either original or have a real-world application, and take a minimum of 30 hours. Student projects are sent to CREST Officer for final approval.
The following students recently received Silver CREST awards for their science investigations. Many of them received their certificates and medallions by our assembly keynote speaker, Kristy Winter and our Principal, Mrs Rebgetz.

Gold CREST Awards recognise students who complete open investigations which are both original and have real-world applications, and take a minimum of 100 hours. Students are also required to have an external mentor. All projects are then judged by a panel of scientists at CREST.
The following students have satisfied the requirements of Gold CREST award for their Science Extended Essay or Internal Investigations. They were presented their certificates and medallions by Dr Andrew Pearson and Dr Dinesh Palipana from Griffith University, and will be recognised again at our Academy Awards in October.

Congratulations and well done to our award winners!
