On behalf of the QAHS community, we congratulate the students below on receiving an official Surf Life Saving qualification last weekend. The entire group showed incredible resilience and tenacity to navigate challenging surf conditions during the assessment and training. We admire your willingness to step outside of your comfort zone and learn a variety of new rescue techniques, both in the water and on land. Students were able to develop new skills in surf safety, beach observation techniques, radio operation, CPR, basic First Aid, tube rescue, board rescue, spinal board, patient carries, patrol set up/equipment, signals, patient care and many other practical skills. We are very proud of you all!

We are extremely grateful for our ongoing community partnership with the Mermaid Beach AEME Surf Life Saving Club and support for the QAHS Surf Life Saving group. Without the dedicated volunteers from the club, we could not run such a quality program for our students. Many thanks to Mr Ian Tannahill, the Chief Training Officer, who is incredibly generous with his time and has supported every QAHS Lifesaving participant since our inaugural group in 2021. We extend our thanks to the wonderful team behind the scenes from the Mermaid Beach club.

Lastly, thank you to our wonderful QAHS Lifesaver team who volunteered to support our new students during the course and Friday afternoon CAS training sessions. Some of our qualified Surf Lifesavers assisted as Water Safety Officers and as helpers while on patrol. Many thanks to the students (and parents) listed below for your help. Surf Life Saving is all about giving back and keeping the community safe on our beaches. We commend your efforts as volunteers.
