The Engineering CAS group has been building a 1 metre long, remote controlled boat for the Gold Coast STEM competition. The students have designed their boat based on a lobster shape with the following design drawings.
Based off these designs the students purchased materials and constructed their boat throughout Terms 2 and 3.
The boat was entered into the STEM competition at Helensvale State High School on Wednesday 21 August. They scored well for the design and creativity and the Engineering CAS group should be congratulated on their efforts and I thank them for all the work they have put in after school time in order to complete their boat.
At the competition the lobster earned the Creativity Award for having the most creative design of all the submitted boats.
