This week's Finance Fundamentals event on campus aimed to enrich the financial literacy of students and staff. Hosted by Year 12 students Allegra Nutley and Tara McGree, the event featured guest speakers from Bond University, who offered valuable insights and resources tailored to high school students.

Covering an array of pertinent topics such as setting savings goals, understanding investments and risks, budgeting, and taxation, the event provided a comprehensive overview of essential financial concepts. Attendees had the chance to engage directly with the speakers during an interactive Q&A session, where burning questions were addressed, fostering a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

Moreover, attendees were introduced to the Moneysmart website, a valuable resource offered by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). This platform equips individuals with tools and information aimed at promoting financial literacy across all age groups. Students were encouraged to explore the website to access resources facilitating the development of healthy savings strategies and budgeting skills. Additionally, for those interested in delving deeper into the stock market, the ASX Schools Share Market Game was highlighted as another valuable resource available to QAHS students.

The afternoon concluded with an afternoon tea in the Greenheart, providing students with the opportunity to connect with our guest speakers. We extend our gratitude to Mr Brendan Howard and Ms Shelley Martain from Bond University for providing the opportunity for the students.
