This International Women's Day, QAHS hosted its inaugural fundraiser and donation drive in support of Share the Dignity, an organization dedicated to ensuring access to menstruation products for those in need.

The response from the QAHS community was remarkable. Students and staff came together in a display of solidarity, donning pink and white attire – the Share the Dignity charity colours- and generously contributing funds or products to support the cause. The Student Executive Committee applaud the collective effort to address the often-overlooked issue of period poverty, particularly among individuals facing domestic violence, homelessness, or financial hardship.

We thank the 339 participants, who raised an impressive $476 and collected 94 product items. These contributions will positively impact the lives of women, girls, and those who menstruate in our community, ensuring they have access to essential hygiene products when they need them most.

House points, this time, were awarded based on participation, with period product donations earning bonus points. Congratulations to Ignis for securing the top spot, followed by Terra (2nd place), Ventus (3rd place), and Aqua (4th place). The enthusiasm from participants exemplifies the spirit of compassion and philanthropy that QAHS strives towards.

The success of this fundraiser is a testament to the commitment and generosity of our school community. By coming together to destigmatize periods and support those in need, we have demonstrated the power of collective action to affect positive change.

For those who were unable to contribute during our fundraiser but still wish to support Share the Dignity, you can do so for the rest of March at Woolworths stores. Some of our Year 12 student leaders had a wonderful time filling an entire donation box with donated products. Details on donating to the Dignity Drive this March can be found here. Together, we can make a difference and create a more compassionate and inclusive world for all.
